Oximeter (SpO2)
An oximeter is a device to monitor the state of oxygen saturation in the patient’s (arterial) blood to assist in the physical assessment of patients without having to go through blood test analysis. A significant indicator in the supply of oxygen into the body is oxygen saturation (SpO2). Oxygen saturation can show whether the haemoglobin can bind oxygen or not. Thus, this oximeter must be calibrated regularly for high accuracy of measurement results because a lack of oxygen can risk organ damage and avoid death risk.
